Terms & Conditions
This section sets out the terms and conditions by which Shimmy By The Sea (SBTS) agrees to provide products and services to you.

By booking or purchasing any product or service from us, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to change, cancel or add to these Terms and Conditions.

Throughout these terms and conditions when we refer to 'we', 'us', 'our', 'SBTS' etc. we are referring to Shimmy By The Sea, its employees and its agents. When we refer to 'you' we are referring to the user or browser of this website, or the class/workshop/performance/event paying participant.

Booking with SBTS
Fees are payable in advance. If you turn up to SBTS events without the fee having been paid, and unless you have a prior agreement with SBTS as regards fee payment, you will not be allowed to participate.
Receipts are available upon request.
In addition to your ticket price you may be required to pay a booking fee or transaction fee. These fees are not refundable.
You will be notified verbally, by email or in writing (using the contact details provided by you) to confirm your booking.
Check your booking details and let us know as soon as possible if there are any errors with your booking.
If you cancel your booking, it cannot be refunded.
 

Changes to the programme
In the unlikely event that SBTS needs to change the venues, instructors or workshops advertised, we will find alternatives of equal value.
SBTS will let customers know of these changes as soon as possible. Please make sure you have signed up to our mail-list so you receive this information as soon as possible.
 

Booking transfers and cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. No refunds will be offered after the last cancellation date.
 

Refunds

 

Deposits paid are non refundable and non transferable. Full payments are non refundable after the full balance cut of date.
Shimmy By The Sea workshops, performances and other events are non-refundable. Full Refunds will only be issued in the unlikely event of a cancellation of SBTS events by Shimmy By the Sea and will not be issued for situations outside of our control.
We will not be held responsible for any workshops or events missed if you are unable to attend due to transport delays, weather, illness, personal loss or any other circumstances.
 

Health, safety and security
SBTS works in accordance with Health and Safety legislation to ensure we hold safe and secure dance events and workshops.
SBTS does not accept any liability or loss, to the extent permitted by law, in connection with any physical activity undertaken by participants in, and in connection with, the event.
SBTS cannot accept liability of any description for any damage or loss of personal property brought to the festival or events. Please take care of your possessions and use sensible judgement. Avoid bringing valuable property to the venue and consider travel insurance.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to SBTS events and may conduct security searches to ensure the safety of all attendees.
 

Privacy and data protection
Please be aware that workshops and performances may be filmed or photographed. These photos and videos may be used in SBTS's promotional materials and published on social media sites. Please let us know if you do not wish to be filmed or photographed at SBTS events.
Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. SBTS will use the information to process your booking, and to provide you with any relevant further information (for example key facts and details about the festival).
